ALEDO, ILLINOIS (October 29, 2025) - Illinois Lyme Association’s (ILA) 5th Annual Golf Outing raised more than $65,000 for the organization on October 4, 2025 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. The golf event brought together 30 teams, 120 players, and 22 volunteers from across Illinois for a day of golf and an evening banquet catered by the course. The first-place honors went to Team Rep. Swanson.
“I am incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support we received at this year’s golf fundraiser. Raising over $65,000 is a significant milestone that will directly enhance our efforts in tick-borne disease advocacy, education, and support,” said Jennifer Russell, Executive Director of ILA.
Illinois Lyme Association is the the state’s leading Lyme disease nonprofit, providing advocacy, education, support, and resources to those affected by tick-borne diseases. Previous projects have included a joint park poster and trail sign initiative with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), a Lyme disease awareness billboard campaign, co-hosting a tick-borne disease medical conference with IDPH, and helping to fund the INHS Medical Entomology Lab’s community-engaged, passive tick surveillance program.
“Events like these are vital in helping us continue our mission to raise awareness about the impact tick-borne diseases have on the lives of patients and their families." said Russell.
Gratitude
A sincere thank you to ILA’s generous sponsors, golfers, and volunteers. The organization’s work would not be possible without the help and support of a tremendous group of people.
