Illinois Lyme Association (ILA) works in collaboration with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) on TREE™, a grant project for tick research, education, and evaluation in the state of Illinois.

Projects Funded By TREE™

  • Providing Lyme and tick-borne disease educational presentations to health care providers, high-risk, outdoor workers, hunters, mental health professionals, and more

  • Creating Lyme and tick-borne disease factsheets and presentations for health care providers, high-risk, outdoor workers, hunters, and mental health professionals, and more

  • Generating additional online resources and educational materials for ILA’s patient-centered blog

  • Writing and directing a short film on how to apply permethrin properly

  • Developing quarterly content for IDNR’s digital publication Outdoor Illinois Journal.

  • Working with IDNR across a variety of initiatives to increase public awareness about tick-borne diseases

  • Assisting IDNR by reviewing and updating existing Lyme and tick-borne disease content

  • Joining forces with INHS Medical Entomology Lab on their free tick identification program for Illinois residents.
